They know all of their suppliers personally and with over 300 years heritage of working in the agricultural and food business, Burgess has forged strong links with the farming community. They try to source their ingredients from local farmers wherever practical whilst ensuring the highest quality. For example the grass they use in Burgess Excel is grown a tractor drive away from their mill in Yorkshire - they like to think of their food as having tractor miles, not air miles.
